I just wondered if general recommendations under the category of nature cure can help in maintaining the weight. I mean to say that if I am overweight, can nature cure preferably diet help me in getting normal weight.

Yes, the nature cure can help you shedding off your extra weight and maintain the weight.  If you do not suffer from any severe or chronic ailment for a long period of time except over weight, I would suggest in the lines of principle of detoxification and nutritional fulfilment. There are only two causes of any illness i.e. accumulation of toxins in the body and nutritional deficiency, as per the nature cure laws. And even our immunity also depends on this principle. So, as per this principle, I would suggest as per the following, but again disclaim that one should consult doctor /physician before applying these suggestions to one self:

(i) In the morning, one can use 3-4 drops of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of slightly warm water as a first drink. Those who have acidity issues may not like it. In the market, there are very cheaper ones but I prefer only one of Organic India that is available as imported one with mother vinegar. So, better to use that one.

(ii) There are three things that can be done before taking bath. But this would take some time and efforts on one's part to devote, around one hour. For this, you may require sets of small and big towels.

(a) Dry Friction: Use dry hand towel to do friction over the whole body. Start from the feet and while circulating clock-wise / anticlockwise, move upwards - frictioning all over the whole body - through the abdomen and back and arms and face. Do not friction too hard. It helps a lot. Skin is largest part of the body which has innumerable pores. Dry friction helps in opening those pores which help in respiration of the skin. Alongwith, this also helps in lymph circulation which is helpful in developing immunity. If one is comfortable with hand towel, one can use soft brushes as well for dry friction.

(b) Abdominal Pack: One can use big towel or any thick cotton cloth. Wet this in cold water and squeeze to eliminate water and wrap around the whole abdomen. No issues, if this cloth wraps around the back. Thereafter, cover this cold-wet cloth/towel with warm woolen or dry towel so that body's heat is internally generated. One can do this for 30-45 minutes or till slight perspiration is felt.

(c) Spinal Bath: Generally, in naturopathy centre, we use spinal bath tub. There is no need to purchase this tub. One can use long towel which can be wet with cold water and squeeze to eliminate the water. Then this towel can be used logitudinally on the back longitudinally along the spine from the neck down to the tailbone. Obviously, you will need to lie down for 10 minutes for spinal bath.

2. As far as diet is concerned, I will just recommend to take green vegetables juice once in a day. That can comprise of cucumber, bottle gourd, mint leaves, one piece of bitter melon, amla, etc. This will help us in alkaline cleanse. I prefer at around 11 in morning. As per one's comfort and taste, one can take fruit juice or coconut water at around 4 in the evening. But for this, you will require good company juicer. I prefer Sujata, Inalsa or wonderchef.

3. Some crave for tea. For this, I suggest to take Divya Pey (Patanjali brand). It is combination of more than 15 herbs.

4. Always chew every bite of your meal - 30-35 times for better mastication as well as salivation of the bolus of your food intake.

5.Add yoga nidra in your daily regimen at night. Read book on yoga nidra for better understanding or search for yoga nidra instructions on youtube.

6. One can also take on alternate days - Isabgol for a week only.

7. Avoid: Raw Sugar / White Sugar.

One can customize the above plan as per his own needs and after consultation with his physician/ doctor.
