I have been practicing the Surya Mudra for extensive periods of time as I wanted to loose some weight. I would go on practicing for more than 45 minutes daily. In the meantime, I lost weight but I developed a problem in my eyes, dry eyes. Could there be a relation between the surya mudra and dry eyes? Now I practice the prana mudra to help my eyes though I am wondering if I should go for increasing the water directly through varuna mudra.
Also, could you recommend any good books about Mudras?

Surya mudra is a traditional yoga pose that is believed to help with weight loss. It involves pressing the tip of the ring finger and thumb together while extending the other three fingers. This mudra is thought to help regulate metabolism and stimulate the digestive system, aiding in weight loss. It is also said to reduce stress and anxiety, which can help reduce emotional eating. Although it can be beneficial, it is important to be aware of the potential side effects of surya mudra. It can cause dizziness and headaches, as well as fatigue and additionally, it can cause dehydration if practiced for too long or with too much intensity. I cannot establish any clinical correlation between extensively done surya mudra and dry eyes  but dehydration so caused may be the reason, though not confirmed. So, it is important to listen to your body and stop if you feel any discomfort. 45 minutes of practice, divided into 15 minutes per session are enough.
