Jala neti should be used with salted water which should be lukewarm. The salt may be sendha, if it is available, or you can use any simple saline water for jala neti so that the cleansing can be done easily. Luke warm saline water easily dissolves the inner mucous membrane of the nostrils and hence, helps in cleansing of the nostrils. Just be careful about the hygiene of the water and neti pot.
