Pranayama is a breathing exercise that can help improve overall breathing patterns and reduce stress and anxiety, which may be helpful for people who stammer. So, if it is because of anxiety, pranayama can help to some extent, otherwise speech therapist will better able to help you, try to find some better one.  In addition, you can also refer for a clinical counselling. Also you may attend classes on public speaking as well.  Here are a few pranayama techniques that may be beneficial:

  • Bhramari Pranayama: This technique involves inhaling deeply and making a humming sound as you exhale. It can help calm the mind and reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Kapalbhati Pranayama: This technique involves forceful exhalations through the nose while keeping the inhalations passive. It can help improve lung capacity and increase oxygen supply to the brain.
  • Nadi Shodhan Pranayama: This technique involves alternating nostril breathing, which can help balance the nervous system and improve focus and concentration.
It's important to note that pranayama should be learned and practiced under the guidance of a qualified yoga teacher to ensure proper technique and safety. Additionally, while pranayama may be helpful as a complementary therapy for stammering, it is not a replacement for professional speech therapy or other medical treatments.
