Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical practice that involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow and promote healing.
So, it is not related to yoga. I presume that you may be drawing the attention toward accupressure which treat diseases/ its symptoms by applying pressure with the fingers to specific pressure points on the body. So, here yogasanas and mudras / bandhas play role by applying pressure through postures to specific vital points/ organs to tone the organs and /or nerves. Like siddhasana, padmasana, - presses some points to sublimate the sexual energy to ojha or awakening the kundalini. Many people have therefore developed accu-yoga accordingly.
While yoga is not directly related to acupuncture, there are certain yoga postures that can be beneficial for people who receive acupuncture treatments. Here are some yoga poses that can help to support acupuncture:
- Balasana (Child's Pose): This pose can help to stretch the lower back, hips, and thighs, and can promote relaxation and stress relief. To do this pose, start on your hands and knees, then lower your hips back towards your heels and stretch your arms out in front of you.
- Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose): This pose can help to improve circulation and reduce inflammation in the legs and feet. To do this pose, lie on your back with your hips close to a wall, then lift your legs up the wall and rest them there.
- Savasana (Corpse Pose): This pose can help to promote deep relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety. To do this pose, lie on your back with your arms and legs stretched out, and allow your body to completely relax.
It's important to note that yoga should not be used as a substitute for acupuncture or any other medical treatment. If you are receiving acupuncture, it's best to talk to your acupuncturist or a qualified yoga teacher about which yoga poses may be most beneficial for you, and how to practice them safely and effectively
