Would it be best to incorporate this breath at the beginning, middle, or end of class?

I presume that you are asking about your class. Then I would suggest that if the class is feeling sleepy or lazy, you can let them practice Kapalabhati. Else, it would be better if it is done in the beginning of pranayama session which is usually done after asana session. Doing so in the beginning will cleanse the respiratory passage and oxygenate the body. This can be clubbed with other cleansing pranayama - naadhi shudhi pranayama for better results. Shavasana or yoga nidra or any relaxation technique thereafter will then be easily done with good results.
