All students want to excel in their studies and so, they rely on the things that can improve their concentration and memory, whereas Sthula vyayam are practiced for muscular development and building up the physique. But you can practice two of them to improve concentration as these exercises improves neuromuscular coordination - Rekha-Gati and Urdhva-gati

There is another set of exercises called Sukshama Vyayama which are very simple exercises that work on very subtle level focussing on group of small joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments. These can be done with very little effort but have a very beneficial effect on the systems of the body.  The following are 5 exercises of 48 exercises of Sukshama Vyayam that can help you in your student life:

  1. UCCARANA-STHALA TATHA VISUDDHA-CAKRA-SUDDHI
  2. SMARANA SAKTI VIKASAKA
  3. BUDDHI TATHA DHRITI SHAKTI VIKASAKA
  4. MEDHA SAKTI-VIKASAKA (INTELLECTUAL VIGOR)
  5. NETRA-SAKTHI-VIKASAKA (eye)
However, if you focus on over all fitness, you may practice sukshama vyayama first for a few weeks and then you can practice the sthula vyayama other than the above mentioned two exercises which are easy to be practiced by any one.
For more details, please go through the complete list of sukshama vyayama and sthula vyayama.  You should also consult your physician in case you suffer from any kind of disorder wherein these exercises may be contraindicated.
