Sciatica describes pain, weakness, numbness, or tingling in the leg. It is caused by injury to or pressure on the sciatic nerve and this nerve starts in the lower spine and runs down the back of each leg. So, you are not suffering from sciatica.

I may further add for the information that during sciatica, there is severe pain in the buttocks which radiates down the back of the thigh and calf to the outer border of the foot.  If the patient is severe, the patient cannot stand even and even the pain is felt during coughing, sneezing and when bent forward or during toilet while passing a stool.

First, absolute bed rest on firm mattress is the best form of treatment. If sciatica pain is ignored, it can aggravate.

Accupressure works wonder. There are some accu-points on the back of knee, calf, ankle, toes which if worked on by qualified accupressurist helps in the treatment of sciatica.

Hot and cold fomentation on the lower back supplements the treatment.

Suksham Vyayam and certain Yogasanas by some qualified yoga practitioner to relieve from sciatica disorder and strengthen the back.
