I mean to ask whether yogasanas can harm in some cases same like contraindications mentioned for medical drugs, do these contraindications apply to yoga also.

Yes, contraindications do apply in yogasanas too like forward being asanas should not be done by people with lumbar spinal problems.

Inverted asanas including padhastasana should not be done by one with glaucoma, head diseases and severe hypertension or injured cervical spin.

Similarly, yoga nidra and meditation should be avoided by people with schizophrenia and other severe mental problems and chakrasana should be avoided in gastric ulcerative conditions.

In the same way, the case history is seen before yoga therapy is given to the patient for better efficiency of yoga therapy without any harm on account of yoga therapy.
