I was wondering if by doing asanas and not considering other steps of ashtanga yoga is sufficient to bring good results that yoga claims. Now a days I see many are just obsessed with asanas only. They seems to be ignoring other things yama and niyama and pratyahara. What do you feel about asana and how much important is asana?

Asanas, or yoga postures, are an important part of yoga practice, as they help to improve flexibility, strength, and balance. However, it is not sufficient to achieve the full benefits of yoga.

Yoga is a holistic practice that involves various elements such as pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, and the incorporation of ethical principles into daily life. These elements work together to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Additionally, Yoga is not only about physical postures, but it's also about having a healthy mindset and attitude towards life. So, having a consistent yoga practice that includes a combination of asanas, pranayama, meditation, and ethical principles can lead to achieving better results.

It's important to note that while yoga can be beneficial, it's not a substitute for medical treatment, and it's best to consult with a qualified yoga teacher or healthcare professional before beginning any new practice, especially if you have any pre-existing condition.
