Without knowing the cause of abnormal weight, it is difficult to accurately outline the treatement. However, the general line of treatment consists of the following practices, under the guidance of qualified yoga instructor or therapist:

(i) Shatkarmas |cleansing techniques for detoxification|: Kapalbhati, Kunjal, Nauli.

(ii) Suryanamaskar for at least 5 but within own limit.

(iii) All sorts of asanas can be taken subject to the precautions according to some associated disorders - Tadasana, Ardhachakrasana, trikonasana, dandasana, vajrasana, baddhakonasana, passchmitonasana, ustrasana, jaanusirsasana, bhujangasana, salabhasana, dhanurasana, suptaveersana - all should not be done together - but should be divided into two day's sets. The duration of each asana should be increased from 15 seconds to 1 minute.

(iv) Pranayama - Naadhi Shuddhi, Bhastrika, Suryabedana (with caution for high blood pressure disorder).

(iv) Progressive relaxation - shavasana, yoga nidra, etc.
