Migraine may be caused due to the following factors -Allergies, Bright lights, loud noises, and certain odors or perfumes, Physical or emotional stress, sleep disorder, smoking, fasting/ skipping meals, alcohol drinking, improperly digestion of food/ constipation. There is need to identify factor and treat or fix it accordingly. In general, shatkarmas - yogic cleansing action - like kunjal - dhauti and neti are helpful. If it is linked to dosha, one can do vastra-dhauti which balances all the doshas in the body.

Sattvic diet is highly recommended for the migraine patients. Non-vegetarian food is strictly avoided. To add to the treatment regimen, in addition to general yogasanas, one should also include progressive relaxation or deep relaxation technique (every day) or yoga nidra (every three days).  Naadhi -shodhan pranayam purifies the naadis which shall again help the migraine patients. One should fix the time for sleep and getting up in the early morning to avoid migraine attacks.
