Cardiac diseases depend on lifestyle, diet, stress, nature of occupation/ profession, etc.

So, without bothering about the above mentioned factors though they are important, in view of the question, the following will be helpful:

  • Sectional Breathing
  • Naadi Shuddhi Pranayama
  • Ujjayi Pranayama

So far as asana is concerned, I would prefer to go for sukshama vyayama (Swami Dhirender Brahmachaari) or loosening exercises subject to stamina of the patients, rather than to go for asanas prima facie.

Prevention plays important role in rehabilitation/treatment: avoid food rich in fats and cholesterol, include more vegetables and fruits, meals should be light.

A 45 minute alongwith certain precaution and prevention - 15 minute for physical exercise covering sukshama vyayama or loosening exercises, 15 minutes for pranayama as mentioned above and 15 minutes for meditation will be enough. Proper nutrition/ diet management will be complementary to the yoga line of treatment.

Yoga is beneficial if performed regularly  few hours every week.It helps to calm and balance the physically body and mental relaxation. It also helps to lose some weight with variety of yoga asanas and add more energy with deep nose breathing.Person feels more happier and eat less quantity of food.Deep nose breathing also lower the blood pressure.Warrior two pose is powerful and even warrior one is great. Savasana adds relaxation and more energy and focus.Balancing the body, physically, mentally and spiritually is more important than fancy poses. Ujayi breath add space for breathing and release tension. Blessings

Heart patients need to keep moving and maintain their diet and slow sound breathing to strengthen the lungs. Child's pose should be ok to keep the arms down, palms facing the mat and shoulders away from ears.Upward facing dog to add the breath and expand the chest slowly is alright. Mountain pose for standing close the wall.Meditation will certainly add the calmness and relaxation. Blessings
