Swami Ramakrishna once said that number 1 should be attributed to spirituality and 0 to material achievements. If your spiritual foundation is strong and primarily fixed, then every material 0 will be added after 1 and thereby increase the value of spirituality because after 1, 0 will be suffixed to it increasing the value of that number (1000…00). Then the life be fulfilled, i.e. you will be Praptiswarup and Santushtmani.
Though only senior brothers/ sisters have authority to suggest on this, and therefore I would suggest you to go to your BK Centre and discuss with your issues with Teacher Sisters or when you have the opportunity to go to Madhuban sometime, try to discuss with some senior brothers/ sisters like Suraj Bhaisaheb who has many times earlier answered on these subjects at Programme “Samadhan” telecasted through Brahmakumaris’ own TV channel – PMTV. Though I will try to give some points to ponder over them while taking decisions.
As Baba has always focused on learning and teaching, be it spiritual education, you must go for higher education (in the beginning, Brahma Baba had started boarding school for imparting education to children). Higer education will give you new dimension to understand our spiritual knowledge in a new way, for example, financial education in depth gives us glimpses the stocks of sankalpas, karmas - how they operate/work in one’s life. You will be able to use this new learning of higher education in the field of sewa also, as well as you will get new platform to share your spiritual knowledge with others while pursuing the higher education.
One who learns new things throughout life never become old, instead he becomes more experienced and multi-dimensional.
Since a higher education provides you with more freedom in pursuing a career that inspires and interests you, you'll likely enjoy your career more. Things like employment benefits, higher income, and advancement opportunities typically lead to higher job satisfaction. You will then be able to use all these resources in sewa if you pursue higher education alongwith your spiritual education. No doubt, spiritual education is beyond all the material education, but the synergistic effect of both the education will give you more freedom materially as well as spiritually. In our gyan, there are high level professionals who are more matured in gyan as they have developed thinking faculty to the good extent and used that faculty in understanding the spiritual knowledge of our beloved BapDada. The scope of sewa can only be increased when the brothers/ sisters are professionals of higher quality.
I can understand that you might be fearful if your preparation of competitive exams or pursuing higher education shall deviate you from spiritual awareness as this increases body consciousness whereas we have to make purusharth to maintain soul consciousness. However, suppose if you do not pursue higher education, still some other obstacles may try to hamper your progress in spirituality as Baba says that Maya will test you every time you step upwards. So, the point is how to keep spiritual awareness every time irrespective of the circumstances. It is needless to say that Baba has already defined four subjects which should be followed - Yog, Gyan, Sewa, Dharna and these can be followed irrespective of the location, time and position of the purusharthi/ teevra-purusharthi. We have been taught to imbibe new sanskaras and new values in our soul through all these subjects for entry to new age - Satyuga. This will be materialized only when we in the body do such acts & deeds because small habits /responses will become our sanskaras after the long run.
So, in view of the above, I would suggest you to pursue higher education alongwith the spiritual awareness. Instead, use the powers of yog and support of Bapdada to clear the exams with less effort and best outcome. Be holy, lightful and mightful.
