Hi,
I hope you can assist me with this question. I havent had the chance yet to talk with my teacher about it, since he was the one who showed it to me. (although I will).

My girlfriend has a heart condition, the heart races and slows, pounds hard and fast, and soft and weak. My teacher showed her a hand mudra for her heart. Since I seem to have the same condition, I have used this mudra and it does seem to work.

I have noticed that it focuses the blood to the hands along with relaxation and focus on your heart, and this alone helps alot.

What this mudra looks like is as follows:

- interlock the fingers of both hands with the right hand index finger on
top of the Left Index.

- using the tips of the thumb and index finger, form a circle that
encloses the middle and ring finger of the opposing hand. (do both hands)

- Point your pinky fingers at your heart and "relax and give up"

My questions for you are:
- is there a name for this mudra?
- what is its background and how does it pertain
  to heart related issues?
- do you have any internet links describing this mudra (I cannot find any)
- Any other mudras with similiar characteristics that benefit the heart, mainly in calming it?
- feel free to elaborate on any aspect of this mudra that you may have
knowledge about.

I hope that you can provide some assistance with this. Everyone I have asked has never seen this mudra before.
