Around the corner here is a Raja Yoga Meditation center. I went there and they say every course is for free. They say it's donations only. Yet it is a huge center in a kick ass location, probably costing 5000usd+ just the rent. How do they pay for the rent, what is their business model? (they refused to tell me)

I hope you are referring to Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Godly University. If so, to the extent of my knowledge, the organisation is purely Godly and global university which is a family of around 9 lakh students who are well working and employed and they are subscribed to share.  So, it seems not surprising point to observe.  The surprising note is that the students (brothers / sisters) learn from the Supreme Soul (Shiva Baba) directly, about many spiritual knowledges - soul consciousness, God consciousness, history of four ages - Golden Age, Silver Age, Copper Age and Iron Age and spiritual applications of the moral values.
