Dear sir, I am a 27-year-old male, 5 feet 5 inches, weighing 53 kg. My weight has been stable around this figure (plus/minus 2-3 kg) for last 8-10 years. Though I am lean built, I have good stamina and don't get fatigued even after walking, jogging, exercising, etc. I have tried regular exercise, push-ups, pull-ups, jogging, weights, etc., but no real gain. Appetite is good and diet too is good though I take only 3 meals, nothing in-between, no snacks, tea, coffee, cold drinks, junk food, etc., fairly simple diet. I don't drink alcohol, smoke, or eat non-vegetarian. For the last 10-15 days, I have started yoga and I exercise for about 30-45 minutes, doing Surya Namaskar, Savasana, Sarvangasana, Pashimotasana, Dhanurasana, Shalabasana, Savasana, Bakasana, Hamasana, Mayurasana (in the order written). Despite simple lifestyle, I also ! suffer from acne for the past 6-8 years, which despite various treatments (includes, allopathy, homeopathy, face packs, steam, hot water soaks, creams, lemon application, etc.) has failed to cure. Everything, literally everything, helps initially, but as and when it seems it is going to cure now, it relapses (while the treatment is still on and has not been stopped). I must also add that I did not take any treatment whatsoever in the first 3-4 years because I ""ignorantly"" felt I should not suppress the disease. I can provide more information if warranted. Please suggest something.

Yoga can be beneficial for individuals who are dealing with acne and weight gain. Here are a few yogic practices that may be particularly beneficial:

Asanas (postures) : Certain asanas, such as the fish pose (matsyasana), the cobra pose (bhujangasana), and the locust pose (shalabhasana), can help to improve the blood flow to the face and improve the function of the internal organs, which can help to reduce the symptoms of acne.

Pranayama (breathing techniques): Pranayama practices such as the bellows breath (bhastrika) and the victorious breath (ujjayi) can help to increase the metabolism, which can aid in weight loss.

Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation): This sequence of postures can help to increase cardiovascular fitness, improve digestion and strengthen the muscles.

Kapalbhati: This pranayama is also known as the "skull shining breath" and is known for its ability to activate the abdominal muscles and internal organs, which can help to reduce weight.

Yoga for stress management: Stress can be a contributing factor to acne and weight gain, so practices such as yoga, pranayama and meditation that help to reduce stress can also improve skin health and aid in weight loss.

Diet and Lifestyle: Incorporating healthy diet and lifestyle changes can also be beneficial in treating acne and weight loss. Try to avoid processed foods, high sugar and high-fat diet, and consume more fruits and vegetables.

It's important to note that while yoga can be beneficial, it's not a substitute for medical treatment, and it's best to consult with a qualified yoga teacher or healthcare professional before beginning any new practice, especially if you have any pre-existing condition.
