Firstly I'd like to thank you for taking the time and trouble to donate your valuable time to assisting others. I am extremely interested in learning Yoga and whilst I have researched the basics of yoga there seems to be so many different types and styles and origins of yoga that it seems difficult to know which is most suitable to learn for a beginner.

Is there any particular style or form of fundamental yoga that is the same style and type that is at the heart of yoga practiced in India since it first originated? I'd like to learn some simple yoga exercises which are true to their original nature and are not too difficult or time consuming to learn as I am going to be self taught until I am able to take proper yoga lessons.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
