I am aged 15 years old and is preparing for a crucial engineering examination.I seem to have problem falling asleep and I haven't had a 8 hour sleep since 3-4 months.I live in a hostel and there a boy used to use his alarm clock and would wake up at 5 am.I would get up too due to it's irritating noise. Now he stopped after some 2 months but that badly damaged my sleep cycle.I am not able to sleep in that hostel for more than 5.5 hours.Mostly I get sleep for only 4 hours.I feel very tired during the day and feel like that I am having many mental lapses.
The main problem is that I think a lot..its not that I have some sort of tension but I am just like a philosopher and my mind wanders into worldy things and ponders over various topics.I just don't get sleep even though sometimes I feel sleepy.I don't want any medicine..I have tried some pranyamas too and I practicse them some time daily but dont work much.
Sir I have this critical problem, can you help me out?I dont want to go medicine.

I would really appreciate if you find me a practical solution.

Please try some energetic exercise during day and then practice some yoga asanas to relax, practice deep breathing through nose, engage lower belly to breathe deeper not shallow breathing.Lie down on the floor, savasana and surrender.Must practice energetic exercise, if healthy. When you are tired physically and mental relaxation comes with deep nose breathing and relaxation. See picture for an example of a standing meditation. Fold the hands in prayer and chant Om as long as you feel comfortable (a few times). In your practice, try to focus on deep breathing through your nose and attention on your Christ eye. Your exhales should be deeper than your inhales. Engage your lower belly while breathing. Once you have done this, mentally chant Om in the mind a few times. Then you can lie down face up on your bed. Surrender yourself to complete relaxation, but keep concentration on your Christ eye (it is more of an awareness, not a tension in your forehead).
